Life in their sleepy town was routine for Maggie and her brother - until one Saturday afternoon in October when a freaky woman dressed in black stepped off of the bus from Fort Worth and walked into their mother's hotel.

She said that her name was Mrs. Johnson, but later Maggie learned that it wasn't. It was really Vivienne and she definitely wasn't who she pretended to be... she claimed that Maggie was a changeling and she was her true mother. Vivienne had come to take Maggie home through the Imaginaerium Engine portal in the clock tower and into the shadowy Otherworlds. Maggie insists she'll escape, but breaking free from webs of mystery and magic isn't easy.

Soon in the Otherworlds, Maggie finds herself tasked by Vivienne to return with a group of teenagers from the Otherworlds to her sleepy town in Texas to save the device that Vivienne calls the Imaginaerium Engine... and she only has 5 days to do it! Maggie must find a way to save the Engine and the Otherworlds .... even though she has no idea what she's doing!

Maggie's world flipped upside down with Vivienne's talk about saving the Imaginaerium Engine. Maggie wondered, "What's an Imaginaerium Engine?"

Life got so crazy after that....
